Pompous and Circumstance

Shelby has met yet another milestone in her young life. Yep, she graduated elementary school. We all know how proud we can be of our kiddos, but this day I was beaming. Shelby is the valedictorian of her class and was chosen to write and present the welcoming speech. She did a fine job. To top it off she won the coveted "Girl of the Year Award" of the entire 5th grade. Yes I'm bragging, yes, I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about it! LOL I can't help it!

Well, the boys and girls of Sheldon came out to play today. Here are a few pics of the tug-o-war. I wasn't able to get pictures of the softball game due to me playing in it! LOL I can multi task but thats a bit beyond my capabilities.

Kenny was talking to himself the whole time he was being dragged..."push the pool! push the pool!" LOL He actually just got back from Iraq. Nice to see him in another familiar uniform.
They are such boys! LOL Kenny didn't make it in so they helped him out!

Stair steps!

Allow me to introduce you to another one of my brothers. Bloggers...meet Harvey. LOL It wasn't planned but somehow we ended up tallest to shortest. If he wasn't leaning on the washing machine he'd be even taller. Now if you remember I posted a pic of my older brother Bill a while back. Well I'm going to ask again, what happened to my height gene? Who took it? This kid is 9 years younger than me! LOL You can't see in the picture but my brother Bobby is also there. He thinks its real cute to come up to his "big" sister and rest his elbow on the top of my head. And people wonder why I moved away from them! LOL
Of course I love them dearly. Without them, my disfunctional family would have no func! LOL And really, who has patience for normal people anyway??

BENIGN!!!!

BENIGN!!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL WORD!
She will be going to Dr. Blocker, an orthopedic doctor, very soon. Dr. Simmons will be making her appt. with him. She will definately be having surgery to dig the tumor out of her bone. Depending on the amount of bone that has to come out with the tumor we may be looking for donor bone. Possibly harvested from another part of her body, or even an outside donor. I'm first in line! I have to tell you, my Christ had his hand on my shoulder every step of the way. Dr. Simmons is a wonderful Christian doctor and loves his patients very much. Even puts up with the crazy parents beautifully. When pooh was being prepared for her MRI they gave her "earheads" (thank you Em) to wear with music playing to drown out the sound of the machine. The tech also gave me a set to wear so I could hear what they were saying to her during the test. I put the headphones on, and what did I hear? Praise and worship music! Now if that isn't Jesus saying, "Shelia, calm down girl", then I don't know what is! LOL I thank all of you so much for your prayers, keep them coming for the upcoming surgery. If her arm interferes with cheerleading she will not be a happy girl! Ever the Princess!

Jake and Emmy, you two are blessings to this Earth, your family and your friends. God has set aside a mighty work for you guys. Thank you so much for praying for my Pooh! I love you bunches! You both get big squeezes from mommy and nana from me!

Ok, we all know what happens tomorrow. Here she is showing off those big muscles in that right arm! So keep sending up your prayers, they've helped already. Her bloodwork came back great. The bottom picture is my favorite of all time of her. The way it is set kinda stinks but the pic itself is gorgeous! ~big smiles~

Cuttin Fool

We all know this guy isn't serious until absolutely necessary. As you can see, this was NOT one of those times. LOL He was trying to pop wheelies on Christina's bike while the little vikings were running amuck! Hmmm, wonder where the kids get it from? ~smiles~

I have no idea why I like this picture, but I do. Maybe because its off center, a bit like me sometimes.
These are my baby grannies. Granny Smith apples that is.

The Vikings Have Landed in Sheldon!

So there we were, the kids were bored and I was wanting to be silly. So I did! I broke out Big E's jigsaw, some plywood and a pencil and made everyone a sword! LOL Shelby and Bubba wanted shields so we did those too. The kids got Daddy's spraypaint and meticulously painted every bit of thier weapons as well as their fingers. Notice the campfire in the background, no viking encampent is complete without one you know! Also worth pointing out is the barbarian princess in the pink camo jammers. A special touch that only she can pull off! LOL Christina had a sword made as well but by this time had given up on plundering surrounding villages. Geeze I love these guys! LOL
The viking prince is egging on the photographer!
Scary! Looks like Bubba plundered way past his bedtime!
The swordmaker needs a manicure!

Happy Happy Birthday Pooh!

In honor of her Highness tonight's post will be in pink! LOL Only the best for the Princess you know! Catherine Elizabeth is 6 today! Going on 16... LOL We will have her party tomorrow at the house. She was my mother's day gift 6 years ago. A little pink bundle, all 8 lbs. 4 oz. of her. I really like this pic, and I must confess, one of her sisters took it today. Not my handywork, but they did a great job with it!

So happy birthday honey girl!

Handsome William

Yeah, I cheated. LOL I have a couple of pictures on my desk at work. One is a picture of my Grandparents. When Ms. Sandy saw the pic she said, "Shelia you look just like your Grandpa!" This is partly true I think. LOL My older brother and I both have his cheeks and our eyes disappear when we smile. LOL Just like him. You already know that beautiful lady down there below him. ~smiles~ Just wondering, how did I end up with my Grandpa's frame instead of my Grandma's?? LOL

Quiet Time

Quiet time at the hunting club. It was so peaceful, no gunshots, no screaming kids(miracle!), just a breeze, a chair and the sunshine. ~sighs~ so when do we go back?? LOL

Land of the Giants

When I saw this mushroom growing in the pot off the back porch of the office I thought...now that reminds me of that old corny T.V. show "Land of the Giants" LOL or maybe Journey to the Center of the Earth. I don't know, either way I liked it. My imagination never left me as I grew up, I'm always thinking of stuff like this! HA! On second thought, maybe I didn't grow up!

A Sign of Things to Come?

Well, here's my Shelby. Yep, my 11 year old hard core soft ball playin' Shelby. I remember reading in one of Wendy's comments that her girl was a "serious" ball player. When I said I know the feeling, I meant it! LOL Shelby has played ball for 5 years and is shooting for a college scholarship. Heaven help any girl that comes on that field and doesn't give 100%! The wrath of Shelby will be upon them! LOL So anyway....back to the subject of the picture! Shelby is, as you can see, talking on the phone. No big deal, she does that everyday. This however is a special call. Why you ask? Well, she's talking to her girlfriend Jessica(one of her team mates), and to Amber...yep, you got it...Shelby is on her first THREE WAY CALL! Now I have to ask the blogger girls from my generation(sorry JuJu and Jan, but I KNOW you guys didn't have it!)did we have 3 way calling when we were 11? Crap! for that matter...when we were 17?? I'm shaking my head...3 way calling? At 11 years old? Geeeeze!

Misty morning at Whale Branch Middle

I saw the mist lifting and had to pull over. The pictures don't do it justice. It was really nice in person.

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

This is Eric's step dad Ed. We went to the hunting club to go fishing during the visit. I really like how this pic turned out. He's a very nice softspoken man, likes to do fix it things around the house and loves Eric's mom dearly. So he's an ok guy! The picture below has my MIL in it as well. This was one of the few times I could catch her sitting still, so I took it! Eric looks like his mom. (Thank you Jesus!) LOL sorry, that was bad!

Same Subject Different View

OK ya'll, here's my take on it! Now I have a question, do ya'll see the small holes in the walls to the left and right? They are perfectly spaced, did these hold timbers for something? Someone help me out!

Taste of the Lowcountry

Eric made some Frogmore Stew for his mom & step dad this weekend. It turned out really well and they loved it! I of course had my little pot of seafood free stew in the house! LOL Oh well, I will be able to eat it in Heaven one day, right?

We had a great visit with them and will be traveling to their home in New Bern, NC for Thanksgiving this year.

P.S. This pic is for my misplaced carolina girl!
